What dreams draw endless masses of migrants to Dhaka? What mirages attract them, as a multitude of neon signs glowing in the mist? How do people endure the challenges of this city, building upon a unique capability of self-reinvention? ‘The Glow in the Mist’ reveals some of the 20 million hidden narratives of Dhaka: intimacies, dreams, and anxieties, densely packed in the most startling example of a built environment. It is a waltz through ordinary encounters, accidental places and small-scale performances that constantly produce new ways of inhabiting the city.
