Antonio Paoletti is an architect, filmmaker, and lecturer. He worked at
Mecanoo Architecten for over five years, contributing to a wide range of projects and leading the design of an affordable housing prototype in Ethiopia. By combining vernacular techniques, spatial mapping, and visual ethnography, the project set the basis for a wider affordable housing scheme and was presented at the Venice Biennale. Antonio holds a Master’s degree from TU Delft (The Netherlands), a Bachelor’s degree from Roma Tre University (Italy), and studied at FAUP (Portugal). Alongside his practice, Antonio develops research through graphic novels and films, exploring new research methods. His graphic novel Keniko won the
International Architecture Drawing Prize (2021), and his award-winning short film When I Came to Your Door was screened at over than twenty international film festivals. Since 2022, Antonio has been a lecturer at TU Delft, teaching both BSc and MSc courses, ranging from design studios to theoretical lectures focusing on ethnographic methods.
